In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and social distancing requests, we will be meeting via TELEHEALTH.

This will be accomplished through VIDEO or PHONE visits. Here are instructions regarding your upcoming appointments.

In order to meet requirements for insurance and for an effective session, please read and understand the following:

While your insurance company may allow for telehealth, they are also requiring at least one appointment to be IN PERSON per year. Please plan for this situation.

You will receive an “invite” from Doxy.me with the following language.

This invite will be sent either to your cell phone by text, or to your email. Please check your spam or junk mail file if you do not get an invite the day of your appointment. The invite will state the following.

---Hello, this is Ms. Andersen - please join me for a secure video call:

https://doxy.me/maryandersen

Use a computer or device with a good internet connection and webcam. If you run into issues connecting, restart your computer or check out the Doxy.me http://help.doxy.me

Make sure to type in Mary Andersen with 'SEN' not 'SON'

Please note: When you go to doxy.me/maryandersen you will see this screen:

  • Please note that if you have cell coverage that is better than your wifi, please use the better one so we have a good connection.

I will be Sending out the invites for the appointments the morning of your appointment. You should not respond to the invite until your scheduled appointment time.

If you are a new patient and are looking for medications that are considered controlled substances, such as
Benzodiazepines: Alprazalom, Clonazepam, Lorazepam, Ativan, Klonopin, Valium, Xanax, etc.
Psychostimulants: Adderall, Concerta, Dexedrine, Focalin, Vyvanse, methylphenidate, Metadate, amphetamine salts, lisdexamfetamine, etc.
the FIRST VISIT MUST BE IN PERSON. This is a requirement by the FDA.

1) While your insurance company may allow for telehealth, they are also requiring at least one appointment to be IN PERSON per year. Please plan for this situation.

2). Please “check in” to the Doxy.me website about 3-5 minutes before your scheduled appointment. Please be patient if I do not get to your call right away, as there are potential connection issues, along with out of my control situations.

3). If you are not able to connect per computer, you can certainly try the connection on your cell phone or iPad instead.

It is recommended that you have a minimum of 10mbps download speed, you can check it at www.speedtest.com prior to our appointment.

4). If you are having problems in making a good internet connection, you may want to try a different browser. Google's Chrome browser is reportedly the best one to use with this program.

5). Please call your insurance company to verify if they are covering telehealth. Most of the insurance companies are covering it during the Covid-19 crisis, but they may elect to stop at their discretion. This would be important for you to know for future visits.

6). If you do not have access to a computer and want to do a Phone Visit, that can certainly be done. It is possible that your insurance company will allow for televisits but not allow phone visits.

7). If you have any changes in your insurance, you must communicate this change to myself or my billing person as soon as possible. If your visit is not billed in a timely manner, you could be responsible for the total cost, and delayed notification of new insurance could contribute to this situation.

8) IN order to bill for telehealth, we need to be able to see the person for 50% of the time. This is your responsibility.
  • Final note: Phone visits may not be covered by their insurance and they would be financially responsible then for the visit charge
